The New New

A new month has begun and it’s crazy to see how much good music has been released literally in the span of less than 3 months. It seems as though everyone is having a creativity burst because some of these tracks are absolutely insane. There seems to be a recurring theme of music being a source of excitement and release throughout this past year, and maybe the musical gods have answered our prayers because this playlist is filled to the brim with songs that we could only dream about.

Even from the past couple days, icons like Bruno Mars and St. Vincent have both returned from hiatuses with songs that exceed everyone's expectations and then some. Ashe and FINNEAS have returned for a gut-wrenching platonic love song about lasting friendships in “Till Forever Falls Apart”. First-rate pieces of art derived from such rich sound and beautiful collaborations are exactly what everyone needs right about now; songs that make you want to get up and dance with your friends (but don’t actually party with your friends please). However, you can go ahead and dance with St. Vincent while watching her captivating music video to “Pay Your Way In Pain”.

Although everyone was very excited about these big drops, there are also so many uncovered jewels that are criminally underrated. With crazy amounts of talented artists carving their way into the industry, it’s getting harder to keep up. Ella Jane’s new single, “bored&blind” is a major bedroom party hit, “DYGWYW?” by yours, andrew is a straight banger, and “sexy in the morning” by Mcamp (who we may or may not be interviewing soon) is the perfect song to play while making coffee before you start your day.

All of these songs have been engraved in my brain since they’ve come out and let’s just say there would be a lot of money paid if I could listen to them all for the first time again. So here it is, almost an hour worth of new releases for you to be excited about. Take a listen to Crystal Crush’s “The New New” playlist here:
