Morning Rituals to Raise Your Daily Vibration

If you’re a fan of spiritual gurus and some parts of witchtok, chances are you’ve heard of somebody’s morning ritual. Even if they don’t call it that, people tend to enjoy making their mornings as enjoyable as possible. These simple morning rituals can range from having a cup of coffee in silence  to setting hours aside to sing to your plants and chill. The best part of creating a morning ritual, is the emotional benefits you can feel for hours after. These methods are perfect for those pursuing mindfulness, or just need some piece of mind.

Here’s 5 ideas for that perfect morning vibe:

Morning Affirmations & Manifesting:

To start this experiment with your morning, use a sheet of thick paper to write down 5-10 affirmations you want to remember. (I’d suggest your affirmations to be goal-oriented, self-loving, or a message to remember.)

Put this little paper next to your bedside, and you’re free for the night.

The next morning however: when you wake up, get out of bed to start your day. Whenever you have a couple minutes to spare, grab your paper and recite the affirmations to yourself one by one. It’s essential that as you state each affirmation, you take a moment to sit with it and really understand what you’re saying. Then you’re done!

Stretching & Breathing Routine:

The good news about this ritual is you can start in your bed! When awake, sit in a child's pose position and stretch forward. If you can’t do a child's pose, lay to your side and stretch your back (By fully pointing your toes and lengthening your spine).

As you do this, take a really deep breath. When finished, stretch out the rest of your body! It’s important that you just really take some time to really stretch everything. End your morning yoga with a moment of silence or deep breaths.

This stretching and breathing technique is based on slow stretch yoga. You’ll soon notice how nice it feels to start your day with your body truly relaxed.

Start Your Day Wiser Using Tarot:

Once you have woken up a little and are out of bed, head to your alter or preferred place to practice, take out your tarot deck and grimoire/notebook. However you prefer, pull three cards from your deck to try this spread:

  1. What did yesterday teach me?

  2. What’s a message I should keep in mind today?

  3. What’s a message I should keep in mind right this moment?

After your reading, write a quick summary for what each card told you. If you do this overtime, these notes can build a mini-diary of advice to look back on in the future. You’ll thank yourself when times get tough.

Quality Time With Your Plants:

Get out of bed, grab a cup of water for your plants, and a cup of water for yourself. Start some music, and set a 20 minute timer. Until the timer is done, unplug from your phone, water your plants, and finish your glass of water. This is a personal favorite, as it can work as a moment of mindfulness. It’s also a great time to trim off dead leaves, unpeel any dead layers and water all the ones you need to. Once your timer is up, you can pick your phone back up and carry on with your day.

A Simple 30 Minutes of Silence:

To be honest, this one’s easy to understand. When you wake up, do whatever you need to. Reply to your mom’s text, check your messages on bumble, etc. But as soon as you finish that up, go to your clock app, and set a 30 minute timer. As soon as the timer stops, put your phone on “Do Not Disturb” and place it somewhere you can’t reach it.

Use this alone time to maybe pick up your desk or look through your record collection. It’s just some time for you to really be honest with your thoughts and process your day.

The hardest part of starting a morning routine however, is waking up twenty/thirty minutes earlier than usual your first day. But remember it’s a perfect moment to collect yourself and mentally prepare for your day, so treat yourself with some morning self care. You deserve it!
